The Storykeeper

René Psarolis was seven years old in June, 1944. One evening, he was walking down his Paris street, rue de la Chapelle, when he heard a deafening roar. He looked up and saw a ball of silver roar overhead and explode nearby.

It was a USAF B-17-G, and there were three dead men in the plane.

Decades later, René embarked upon a quest to discover the whole story of crash and to trace the ten crew members.

For his generous acts that followed, René was awarded the medal for Veterans of Foreign Wars from the United States.

The Storykeeper is the first time René’s story has been told. The film has been shown in many venues and festivals worldwide.

This documentary is a collaboration between Erin Byrne and Dutch filmmaker Rogier van Beeck Calkoen.
